Meet Thomas Ramsl

Thomas Ramsl is an Austrian conductor, musical director, music educator and international arts & entertainment professional with more than two decades of experience across music, theatre, education, touring, production and live entertainment.

His professional journey has always developed at the intersection of artistic practice, education and leadership. Beginning as a musician and conductor, he soon discovered that meaningful artistic work depends not only on musical and creative excellence, but also on communication, trust, collaboration and the ability to bring people together around a shared vision.

Throughout his career, Thomas has worked across classical and symphonic music, symphonic wind ensembles, musical theatre and big bands, while also building extensive experience in theatre operations, touring, production and international live entertainment. He has led artistic projects, coordinated musicians and creative professionals, managed multidisciplinary teams and accompanied productions from initial concept and preparation through rehearsal and performance.

Music education has been an equally important part of his professional life. For ten years, Thomas taught percussion, music, composition and arranging, working closely with young musicians and helping them develop both artistically and personally. This experience continues to shape his understanding of leadership and his belief in the importance of education, mentorship and cultural exchange.

Alongside his musical and educational work, Thomas has held leadership and production roles with organizations including Stage Entertainment, AIDA Cruises and TUI Cruises, as well as numerous cultural, orchestral and touring projects throughout Europe. Working across different countries, cultures and artistic environments has given him a broad understanding of both the artistic and operational sides of the performing arts.

Today, Thomas brings these different areas of experience together: conducting, music education, theatre, live entertainment and international arts management. Rather than seeing them as separate careers, he understands them as interconnected parts of the same professional journey – creating, leading, developing and bringing people together through music and the performing arts.

At this stage of his career, he is particularly interested in expanding his international work as a conductor and music educator, while continuing to explore leadership opportunities in theatre, live entertainment and arts management.

New York and the United States are of particular interest, especially opportunities that foster artistic collaboration, education and international cultural exchange.
